No Sale Value

$20.00

Formed in 2000, No Sale Value is an experiment in groove Formed by saxophonist Pat Donaher and shaped in performances at New York's legendary Knitting Factory, the band has performed up and down the east coast. Members of No Sale Value bring a wildly diverse base of experience to the group. Each active on several of the music scenes in New York, members have played with artists as accomplished and stylistically far-flung as Joe Henderson, Steve Vai, and Bernard Haitink. Nu Currency truly defies genre. Mining the experimental spirit of early fusion with the sonic world of electronica and the rhythms of drum'n'bass, the music travels into a world truly it's own. Split between members' original music and free improvisations, nu currency explores territory few bands dare to venture into, from breakbeat to Gregorian to freebop in a heartbeat. The album was co-produced by Donaher and Michael Cain, keyboardist and producer for Meshell N'Degeocello and Jack DeJohnette, and reflects their wide open esthetics and commitment to groove.

Credits:

Pat Donaher- saxophones, bass clarinet
Matt Shulman- trumpets and electronics
Josh Valleau (DJ Industrial Average)- Rhodes, synthesizers, turntables
Tom Mason- bass
Christ Vatalaro
Special Guests
Jenny Scheinmann- violin
Tim Albright- trombone
